Balance is the Key
Balance in art refers to harmony of design and proportion. It is imperative to find balance everything in life. Now we are going to discuss balance in using accessories and jewelries to elevate your look. As a rule, it is better to be underdressed than overdressed. You can always make up the missing link with a great smile and dazzling attitude!
For a start, the occasion and location is important. For formal affairs and settings, it is wiser to stick to classic pieces. String or strings of pearls , diamonds and gemstones with settings that will highlight and not overshadow the wearer. It should compliment with the clothes and personality of the person. When a setting calls for some seriousness in the air, it is but right to respect the ambiance and be in harmony with it. Loud colours and designs call for bad taste and disaster. This applies to guests in weddings especially. No one should outshine the bride on her special day. Quality and classic pieces are the best to wear in this said occasion.
For casual, semi-casual or informal affairs. You can practically wear anything you fancy! You can go as playful or dramatic as you want. The sky is the limit!
Statement jewellery is always a good conversation piece. Now is the time to wear and have fun with it. If your are wearing a busy outfit, say print and elaborate designs, it is always better to use smaller pieces of jewellery or one statement piece at a time. Think of Anna Wintour and her dresses with her statement necklaces, not to mention her famous or infamous shades! Her signature look is so chic, feminine and powerful! in the same token, if you’re wearing a simple outfit, like say classic shirt and jeans, you add a big necklace or a thick cuff bracelet then voila, it elevates your look instantly!
Never be like a christmas tree because you are not tree! You a person with a personality that shines and channels your energy into whatever your are wearing. You carry your outfit and jewellery and never the other way around. Choose pieces that compliment your shape, size and style. If you know the basics, then you will have the confidence to carry it well no matter what the occasion and location your are in. Keep the balance real, because balance is the key to feeling and looking great! It all boils down to knowing who you are from your deepest core. Reflecting from the inside to the outside, but that is another blogpost!
